Recently, we had the opportunity to be guests at Zurich Airport Emergency Services and conduct our 411 driver training together with the local emergency response team. We were especially pleased to start by training three new colleagues, providing them with valuable insights into safe and efficient driving right at the beginning of their careers.
Following our thorough vehicle check and preparation the day before, we worked with the participants and the training management team to cover the fundamentals of safe and efficient airfield firefighting vehicle operation in a workshop. We then took to the airfield, where theory was put into practice – focused and task-specific, directly in the ARFF-vehicle.
The training included essentials such as vehicle control basics, braking and cornering techniques, the specifics of time-critical response routes, and strategies for avoiding critical driving situations while maximizing vehicle performance and keeping the wear and tear of the vehicle as low as possible.
We would like to thank SRZ and Andi Lochmeier for their trust, warm welcome, and openness to new approaches. We wish the new colleagues all the best in their training and safe driving at all times.
It was a fantastic experience, and we look forward to continued collaboration!
